A final post to get us all pumped up and ready for a great weekend of ultimate.

Schedules are set, however, please do not print and bring to fields. We will have a full schedule for you at check-in and some small changes--like field assignments--might need correction over the next couple days.

CHECK-IN
We do not hold captain's meetings. Simply send a representative to tournament central, let us know you are there, we will hand you a schedule and some other goodies, you can then get to playing. Any questions about rules, fields, anything else, please let me know.

PARKING
Unlike the past many years NO PARKING IS ALLOWED behind the fields. All parking will be in the horse paddock to the East of the fields and you can enter directly off 119th. Just like past years, do not park on 119th, your car will be ticketed and/or towed. Also, the parking lot next to the clubhouse is for event staff only. Violators will be towed.

BEER BOTTLES
Don't bring them, bottle caps and broken glass injures horses. We will have plenty of free beer for everyone, but if you feel the need to bring your own, please make it cans. Enforce this with your teammates, it is very important!!

EXTRAS
A quick list of tournament extras that you should come check out throughout the weekend. This will all take place in and around tournament central:

  • Free Powerade all weekend
  • Five Ultimate Mini Golf Course
  • 200 Free LIttle Caesar's pizzas after Saturday play
  • 14 kegs of beer after Saturday play (must show i.d.)
  • Showcase game at 5:15 (field 1) between One Trick Pony and Chad Larson Experience
  • Free NOS energy drink throughout the weekend
The weather report threatened Thunderstorms earlier in the week, but that has given way to a perfect 80 degrees, partly cloudy, with a slight wind!!!!!! Oh mama this is gonna be sweet!

Only 9 days away and here are a few more updates:

  • Mixed and women's schedules posted, open schedule will be up by end of day 9/3
  • We will have 18 kegs and a beer truck ready to be consumed at the end of play on Saturday. Come thirsty. We'll also have some free food to snack on at this time so you don't get drunk too quickly.
  • While the Saturday night festivities are going on we will also have a great showcase game to watch between One Trick Pony and Chad Larson Experience. Be sure to stick around and check out this tough matchup.
  • Lastly, be sure to thank some sponsors. Chipotle for providing all our great volunteers with lunch throughout the weekend, Stanley's Fruit Market for their generous donation of fruit, Blue Ribbon wo is donating a beer truck and giving us a large portion of the alcohol, and panera bread for supplying over 2,000 bagels.

Only three weeks away and things are beginning to fall into place for the 2009 edition of CHC. I hope everyone is getting excited for another great event!!! A few things that we wanted to update everyone on.

There is a list of teams on the website that is very close to final. We are still waiting for payment from about 7 teams before we begin finalizing schedules.

HOTELS...based off the number of rooms booked so far there are still many teams that need to get rooms. Make sure you book before the deadline on August 28th.

If you need any pickups, I've been getting lots of requests (mostly from women), please let me know if you need an extra player or two.

I'd like to acknowledge the great sponsors that recently came on board. Accelerated Rehab will be providing trainers for us all weekend. Also, powerade will be there with plenty of fluids to keep everyone hydrated. Please thank them, and all our other sponsors, for their great support of our sport.

Logistics for our '09 event are coming together nicely. We're very excited about another great year. A few quick updates:

  • Bids have been rolling in daily and the tournament is filling quickly. Be sure to get your bids in soon.
  • 5ultimate has been named as the 2009 CHC merchandiser!! We're looking forward to seeing another great line of merchandise from them to help participants remember this great event.
  • Hotel rooms at Holiday Inn are ready to be booked. Please see the lodging page for links and instructions.

Chicago Heavyweights is set for Sept 12-13, 2009!! We're looking forward to another great year. The website will be updated on a regular basis as we begin to secure sponsorships and more details become available. The bids page will be up and running in a few days.

The traditional date for CHC is the weekend after Labor Day (the first Monday in September). This year that weekend falls on Sept. 12-13. Planning and scoping for the event are underway, but as yet nothing is official. Thanks for visiting!
